Julaine, Owner & Creative Director!

Hi I am Julaine, the owner and creative director behind Events by Julaine (EBJ)! After many years working as an RN in Long Term Care and at the urging of many friends and family, I finally decided to venture out and start an event planning business in 2018. Aside from nursing, this is my other passion. I absolutely LOVE what I do. I have been planning events for friends and family for years! An eye for details is a natural talent that I possess. If I could plan an event on Mars I would definitely take on that challenge...aliens and all. My people skills as an RN has helped me tremendously in connecting with people, taking a holistic approach to everything that I do and ensuring hiccups are ironed out. I am a comedian at heart and have a great sense of humor which I use to ease the stress that sometimes clients feel leading up to an event. So prepare for some hearty laughs and a lighthearted experience :).

I am also a mom of 2 terrific children, Jalen and Solange and I hope they are proud of their mommy for pursuing her dream and showing them that they can achieve their dreams as well!

WhaT INspires me?

All Things Vintage

I have always loved history and old classic movies and working with the elderly over the past 21 years has given me an appreciation for an era way before my time. I love the drama, the glamorous yet sophisticated and simple looks from the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s especially. I love vintage wine glasses! I also love the look and feel of boho- inspired events and I think 2020 has made many of us appreciate the more simple things in life including micro events and intimate gatherings. I'm here for it all!

Fashion

I'm addicted to fashion but the best part about fashion for me is purchasing pieces that are not necessarily expensive, but still leaves an impact. I never follow trends...I follow what makes me feel good and what looks good on me! Everything seem to fall in place when I use this approach while shopping! I love rare finds...and if it's on sale...even better! I definately incorporate this into my business. If I can make it look gorgeous and affordable...that is the best feeling in the world! Oh and I love a nice fedora!
